Clinic Description
South Charlotte VA Clinic, in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides primary health, mental health, and behavioral health care services for military personnel, veterans, and their families, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults in addiction recovery. Dedicated services are available for adolescents, young adults, seniors, pregnant and postpartum women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, homeless and indigent persons, and persons with co-occurring disorders. They offer telehealth care, crisis intervention, and general outpatient (OP) and aftercare programs.
Their MAT program helps clients detox from alcohol, opioids, and other drugs under medical supervision. Providers can administer FDA-approved medications, including methadone, to help clients overcome the physical symptoms of withdrawal and prevent the risk of relapse.
Individual and group counseling sessions provide a whole-client approach to healing, helping individuals understand their addictions and learn life skills for recovery. Clients requiring longer-term pharmacotherapy may be referred to a MAT maintenance program for ongoing support.
In addition to military benefits, South Charlotte VA Clinic accepts most major insurance plans, including Cigna, Aetna, BlueCross/BlueShield, Humana, and others. Contact your provider to verify coverage as out-of-network benefits can vary.
