Atrium Health Addiction Services

Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Atrium Health Addiction Services provides behavioral health and addiction recovery services for children, adolescents, and adults. They offer crisis intervention, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and residential treatment, as well as intensive outpatient (IOP) and general outpatient (OP) programs and aftercare support. Specialized services are available for intravenous drug users, members of the LGBTQ+ community, military personnel and veterans, pregnant and postpartum women, and clients with co-occurring conditions. Telehealth appointments may be available.

Their detox program helps clients withdraw from alcohol, opioids, and other drugs under medical supervision. Providers administer FDA-approved medications, including methadone, to help ease physical withdrawal symptoms and improve client comfort.

A multi-disciplinary team of providers works with each client to determine appropriate post-detox care. Available services include individual and group therapy, family support groups, life skills development, medication management, and recreational therapy. Longer-term MAT maintenance programs are available for clients who require longer-term pharmacotherapy services.

Atrium Health Addiction Services is in-network with many major insurance providers, including Aetna, Cigna, Humana, BlueCross/BlueShield, United Healthcare, and Magellan Health. They also accept military benefits and NC Medicaid. Speak to your provider to verify coverage because out-of-network benefits can vary.
