Methadone clinics in Illinois use methadone-assisted treatment (MAT) as the leading treatment for opioid and heroin addiction. MAT is combined with counseling and providing additional support. MAT is carefully tailored to meet an individual’s specifications and uniqueness. This drug is used to cut the craving of the overuse of substances and end withdrawal symptoms, thus enhancing the patient’s well-being and preventing relapses. Opioid addiction is long-lasting and can cause mental health issues. Overdose affects mental stability and causes an individual to want more to create the same effect. Over time opioid cause lead to life-treating health issues.
