Clinic Description
Lower Buckeye Jail, in Phoenix, Arizona, offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery. The center provides medication-assisted treatment, outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare for justice-involved young adults and adults. Specialized services may be available for pregnant and postpartum women, and adolescents.
At Lower Buckeye Jail, clients who were already enrolled in methadone treatment programs before their arrest are eligible to continue to receive FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, Vivitrol, and Narcan to ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings while incarcerated. Clients also participate in court-ordered counseling to prevent relapse.
In addition to medication management, clients also undergo individual and group therapy and educational workshops, by their programs. Prenatal care is available. Clients may also participate in 12 12-step programs or other substance abuse treatments available in Lower Buckeye Jail. Upon release, clients may receive referrals to outside treatment centers as needed.
Lower Buckeye Jail’s methadone program may accrue additional charges. The center may be in a network with insurance providers, such as Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, Magellan Health, United Healthcare, and Wellpoint.
