West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, in Los Angeles, California, offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), dual diagnosis care, inpatient treatment, outpatient programs, and aftercare programs for veterans and their families. Specialized services are available for gender-specific groups, the LGBQT+ community, homeless/indigent persons, and underserved communities.

At West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, clients receive a personalized evaluation and are assigned a case management team. FDA-approved prescriptions for methadone, buprenorphine, naloxone, or disulfiram may be used to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. Clients participate in counseling to prevent relapse.

In addition to medication management, clients may be eligible for inpatient or patient programs. Clients undergo family and group therapy, receive educational classes, and develop healthy daily living habits. Nutritional guidelines, caregiver support, and other services within the VA network may also be available. Clients may access a nurses’ line and emergency hotlines. The center may make referrals for outside treatment centers and specialized substance abuse programs. Telehealth and transportation services are also available.
