Clinic Description
Veterans Affairs Medical Center Narcotic Treatment Program offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery in New York City, New York. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), dual diagnosis care, outpatient treatment, and aftercare services for veterans and their families. Specialized programs are available for the LGBTQ+ community, specific-gender groups, seniors, homeless/indigent persons, and underserved communities.
At Veterans Affairs Medical Center, clients are assigned a case management team. FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, buprenorphine, naloxone, or disulfiram, may be used to lessen withdrawal symptoms and reduce chronic pain. Clients also participate in counseling to prevent relapse.
Clients in the Narcotic Treatment Program may undergo group and individual therapy to address co-occurring mental and behavioral health disorders. Additional support includes family therapy and resources, emotional wellness training, career coaching, and educational workshops to promote healthy daily living habits. Referrals may be available for outside treatment centers or within the VA network for specialized substance abuse programs.
The Veterans Affairs Medical Center offers self-pay and financing options. The center may be in-network with insurance providers, including Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, ChampVA, Cigna, Humana, Magellan Health, Optum, TRICARE, and Wellpoint.
