Southwood Interventions

Southwood Interventions is a drug rehab in Chicago, Illinois, that specializes in treatment for opioid recovery. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox, inpatient treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), general outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare services for adults. Specialized services are available for justice-involved persons.

At Southwood Interventions, clients undergo a personalized evaluation and receive a custom treatment program. A case management team uses FDA-approved prescriptions, such as methadone, to ease withdrawal and chronic pain. Clients are monitored 24/7, and detox generally lasts for five days.

Residential care includes detox and emotional wellness training. Residential facilities are gender-specific. Treatment consists of 25 hours per week of counseling, education to prevent relapse, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches. Chicago residents may be eligible for the City program, which is free of charge.

Clients may also participate in the intensive outpatient and general outpatient programs for up to nine hours per week. This treatment includes life skills development, career coaching, family therapy, and enrollment in a 12 Step program. Clinicians include addiction counselors who encourage clients to develop healthy living routines. Clients may also receive referrals for specialized care in outside treatment centers.

Southwood Interventions offers self-pay and financing options. The center accepts Medicaid and other government programs, such as SUPR. Clients may also use private insurance providers, such as Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, Magellan Health, Optum, and Wellpoint.
