Clinic Description

NYC Health + Hospitals Harlem, formerly the Harlem Hospital Center, runs the Chemical Dependency Outpatient Treatment Program (CDP), providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and counseling to adults in New York, New York. They may also offer connections to recovery programs, social services, and community resources.

MAT involves the use of FDA-approved medication to manage withdrawal symptoms, minimize cravings, and lower the chance of relapse for those who misuse opioids. MAT also includes evidence-based addiction treatment so participants eventually create a substance-free life without medical support.

The CDP in Harlem offers outpatient counseling to support MAT. Services may include individual and group counseling, addiction education, and relapse prevention. They may also provide training in life skills such as coping skills, communication, building healthy relationships, and stress management.

The NYC Health + Hospitals Harlem CDP may accept a wide range of insurance plans, such as Humana, Ambetter, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Aetna. Because insurance plans vary, be sure to verify coverage information and out of network benefits with your insurer.
