Dr. Syed S. Hussain, MD

Dr. Syed S. Hussain, MD is a board-certified family medicine specialist at Family Medicine and Rehab in Jacksonville, Florida. He provides primary care for children, adolescents, and adults, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient services, and aftercare support for adults in addiction recovery This includes specialized services for pregnant and postpartum women, intravenous drug users, and clients with co-occurring conditions.

In his MAT program, Dr. Hussain helps clients detox from alcohol, opioids, and other substances. He can administer FDA-approved medications, including Suboxone, to help ease withdrawal symptoms, reduce the risk of relapse, and improve general comfort.

When the detox process is complete, clients can also attend follow-up outpatient services, including individual and group counseling, addiction education services, and life skills training to support their continued recovery. These services are based on each client’s individual needs and designated treatment plan. MAT maintenance programs are available for clients requiring longer-term pharmacotherapy.
