Clinic Description

Located in Austin, Texas, Community Medical Services – Austin on Ferguson is a methadone clinic and alcohol and drug rehab center for adults. They provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient treatment, and aftercare services, including specialized support for intravenous drug users, pregnant and postpartum women, hepatitis-C-positive clients, incarcerated clients, and clients with co-occurring conditions. Telehealth services may be available.

Their MAT program takes a whole-client approach to recovery, combining the use of FDA-approved medications with behavioral therapy, addiction education, and counseling. The medications they use include methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, given to reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms and improve client comfort.

Once the medical detox process is complete, clients can attend individual and group counseling sessions that incorporate evidence-based practices, as well as other recovery resources including life skills training, relapse prevention training, and peer support groups. MAT maintenance programs are available for clients who require longer-term pharmacotherapy beyond the initial detox phase.

Community Medical Services – Austin on Ferguson works with most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Amerigroup, BlueCross/BlueShield, Community First Health Plan, Humana, United Healthcare, and others. They also accept Medicaid and Medicare.
