Clinic Description

Gouverneur Clinic, operated by Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, offers outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and addiction counseling to adults in New York, New York. Services may also include connections to social services and community resources.

MAT involves the use of FDA-approved medication, such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naloxone, to help those with opioid misuse disorder treat withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and lower the risk of relapse. MAT also includes evidence-based treatment so that participants build a substance-free life that eventually no longer requires medical support.

Outpatient treatment at the Gouverneur Clinic may include individual and group counseling, addiction education, and relapse prevention. Approaches may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based methods.
