Clinic Description
Bayview Hunters Point Foundation offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery in San Francisco, California. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox, outpatient programs (OP), residential housing, and aftercare for homeless/indigent persons, young adults, and adults, especially in the southeastern sector of San Francisco. Specialized services are available for adolescents and the LGBTQ+ community.
At Bayview Hunters Point Foundation, clients undergo a customized evaluation and are assigned to a case management team. FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, are administered to ease withdrawal pains and reduce cravings. Transportation is available. Detox can last up to 6 months for long-term clients. Clients also participate in periodic drug testing to prevent relapse.
Besides medication management, clients receive individual and group counseling using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) approaches, motivational interviewing, and psychotherapy. The center provides life skills development, career coaching, family resources, limited legal services, and transitional housing and social services. Bayview Hunters Point Foundation may make referrals to outside treatment centers for specialized drug abuse programs.
