Clinic Description
The American Addiction Treatment Center Newport News is among the premier Methadone Clinics in Virginia. This Clinic offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for patients 18 and over 18 with opiate use disorder and dependency. At American Addiction the MAT treatment includes methadone and buprenorphine (suboxone). These medications are taken daily along with individual and group counseling. The treatment process starts with an initial assessment, which is used to personalized a patient’s treatment for the best suitability.
This Newport News Methadone Clinic administers MAT to work on the brain system, to rebalance the chemistry. The treatment will also end the craving for the drug and reduce painful withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone is used to reduce the side effects of the drug. A support system is also created for patients, with families, friends, peers, and other patients. This creates education and sensitization of opioid abuse, between patients and members of their communities. This will discourage others to end up in the same situation.
