Hennepin County Medical Center Addiction Medicine Program

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, HCMC Adult Psychiatry Clinic – Therapy provides psychiatric services for adults in addiction recovery. Operating at the Hennepin Healthcare Shapiro Building, they provide medication-assisted treatment, outpatient treatment, and aftercare services. Dual diagnosis support is available for clients with co-occurring addictions and mental health disorders.

Their MAT services help clients withdraw from opioids, alcohol, and other substances in a medically supervised environment. If required, providers can administer FDA-approved addiction medications to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal, minimize client cravings, and lower relapse risk.

In addition to MAT, they also offer an array of psychiatric and psychotherapy services at the outpatient level. These include personal evaluations, individual and group counseling, and medication management. During their counseling sessions, clients will closely examine their addiction, identify and address underlying mental health disorders, and develop skills for long-term recovery. Providers may be able to make referrals to community-based treatment providers if clients need more extensive or continued support.
