Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego Hospital

Aurora Behavioral Healthcare, part of the San Diego Hospital, offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox, dual diagnosis care, inpatient (IP), partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programs for young adults, adults, and seniors. Specialized services are available for veterans, first responders, children, and adolescents.

At Aurora Behavioral Healthcare, clients undergo an individualized evaluation and are assigned to a case management team. FDA-approved prescriptions, such as methadone, buprenorphine, naloxone, or disulfiram, may be used to reduce cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms during detox. Detox can take from 3 to 7 days. Clients also participate in evidence-based lab testing and evaluations to prevent relapse.

Holistic detox is also available for adolescents. Children may also be eligible for mental health strategies to address chemical dependencies without medications.

In addition to medication management, clients in inpatient and outpatient settings are enrolled in 12 12-step programs, receive counseling and family resources, and develop life skills in day and night programs. Psychotherapy and nutrition guidelines are also provided to hone life skills and promote healthy daily living routines. Pet therapy, art therapy, and music therapy are also available. An alumni network is available to provide further support.
