Clinic Description

The Methadone Office-Based Opiate Treatment (OBOT) Program offers drug rehab services for opioid recovery in San Francisco, California. The center is part of the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare for young adults and adults. Pregnant clients are not eligible.

At OBOT, clients are evaluated and assigned to a case management team. FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, are administered to reduce withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. Clients also participate in long-term recovery programs through take home medications and urine testing.

In addition to medication management, clients receive individual and group counseling through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. The OBOT program lasts a minimum of one year, and clients may be referred to outside treatment centers for specialized substance abuse programs.

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission.

OBOT offers self-pay and financing options. Eligible clients must be San Francisco residents and eligible with the San Francisco Department of Public Health systems. The center may be in a network with insurance providers such as Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, Magellan Health, Optum, and Wellpoint. Please check your insurance provider for coverage and out-of-network benefits.
